Machu Picchu 8 Day Tours - Explore one of the Incas' greatest legacies: the "Lost City" of Machu Picchu, nestled high in the mountains of the Andes. This tour includes visits to Lima, Cusco, once the capital of the Inca Empire, Sacred Valley's Pisac market and Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. Weekly departures: Saturdays, Mondays and Thursdays. Itinerary can be modified to better fit your travel dates.

Day 1: Lima - Welcome upon your arrival in Lima.  Transfer to your hotel in the famous Miraflores neighborhood.  If time permits, feel free to explore Miraflores at your own pace.

Day 2: Lima - During the morning you will enjoy a guided city tour of Lima.  In the afternoon you will visit the famous Larco and Archeological museums.  Enjoy the rest of the evening before your flight to Cusco early tomorrow morning. (B)

Day 3: Lima / Cusco - Upon arriving in Cusco (11,152 ft.), our guide will take you to the hotel where you can spend the morning resting and acclimating to the altitude. In the afternoon you will enjoy a group guided tour of Cusco with its ancient cathedrals and amazingly crafted Inca walls. You will also visit Cusco's nearby ruins; Kenko, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, Saqsaywaman. (B)

Day 4: Cusco / Sacred Valley; Pisac Market / Ollantaytambo / Cusco
Today we will explore the Sacred Valley (9,350 ft.) and experience the rich colors of its traditional towns and ruins. Through the scenic countryside we will make our way to the town of Pisac to visit the town's colorful market. Our afternoon will come to a close at the town of Ollantaytambo. Here, you will visit the site of the beautiful rose-colored stone ruins where the Incans fought the Spaniards. Return to Cusco in the later afternoon. (B, L)

Day 5: Cusco / Machu Picchu
Early morning transfer to board the train (upgraded to Vistadome) to Machu Picchu (7,875 ft.). During the trip you will enjoy great views of the mountains, river and sometimes a glance of the awesome Condor. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes you will begin a guided tour of Machu Picchu.  We will descend to Aguas Calientes in the late afternoon where you can enjoy a relaxing evening. (B)

Day 6: Machu Picchu / Cusco
Free day to return to Machu Picchu (re-entry fee and transfer included). You might want to wake up early and take some pictures from the Puerta del Sol in Machu Picchu. Today is also a great opportunity to climb Wayna Picchu. In the afternoon we will return by train to Cusco.  Transfer to your hotel upon arrival in Cusco. (B)

Day 7: Cusco - Explore Cusco and your own pace.  Is the last day for shopping and visiting again your favorite sites. (B)

Day 8: Cusco and Lima - This morning you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Lima's international airport. (B)

If needed, please also budget from $250/person for 2 domestic flights from Lima to Cusco and back (domestic airline tickets are non-refundable and subject to fees for any change). Final price determined at purchase date.

The above land package price is for groups of 2 or more and includes:
